What is it about your brain leaking out through your nose (aka a cold) that makes thinking so damn hard? I've had three fic files open on my computer all day, and I haven't touched any of them. It's DECEMBER DAMNIT, these fics needs to be FINISHED ALREADY. *head desk*

I hate that point, right at the start of a piece of work that has a deadline, where your brain goes... 'Ideas you say? Nope, none of those here...'

*sigh*

Meanwhile, 101 fics stand unfinished and I feel like a muppet for taking on another piece of work.

So meeting with an old friend made me remember how much I miss Naruto fandom (and canon, I'm way behind) and how I had this truly epic naruto fic planned out, following Kakashi from when he was a baby up to early Team 7 years, including Kakashi and Gai as ANBU, Gai woo-ing a young Iruka, and how Gai's behaviour in canon is all manifestations of PTSD issues and he was only really relaxed and able to speak normally while he was at home with Iruka, and Kakashi's mask covered a seal that was compensating for injuries sustained during his chuunin exams (because a six year old doesn't go into competitions that brutal during war time - when everyone is likely to be behaving just a little more aggressively - without getting hurt.)

*sigh* I've got to stop planning out fics that are too big to ever be feasibly written. I wrote up so much of it, but it was never going to come together into something cohesive.

I suck at long!fics. Case in point: 'that' fic.

Why oh why oh why does my brain fail so hard?

After awesome prompts, several of which I am a couple of hundred words into but far from finishing, my brain has decided to drop everything and obsess over some bit of crappy were!fic fluff that I never intended to write in the first place. GAH!

Dear lovely people who prompted and have helped me develop plans for awesome things - I will get to your fics, but possibly when I have more time to focus on them. I'm always worried about the quantity vs quality phenomena, and the prompted fics are ones I want to be quality-leaning rather than 'oh god I've got to write another 20 points worth of fic before the 30th'. (leading to 'oh god, what was LMX thinking when this got written?)

Apologies for the blah, just to let you know why some of the prompted things aren't appearing.

Looking for a book or film in which the law-enforcement style (or any other perceived 'good guy' role) bod either turns out to be or gets talked into becoming a criminal. Something with a snappy name I can use as a con name.

I'm sure I should know at least one, but in traditional style my mind has gone blank.

Debating maybe 'Dead Presidents'?
