So I know some of you guys were involved in the Fandomaid for Somalia, but that comm was really quite quiet throughout, so in addition you might want to get involved in Help Somalia (from the guys who brought you help_japan).

Any chance I could grab someone to bounce ideas off for a stalled fic I'm working on for the Leverageland minibang? Sophie/Nate/Eliot and prompted off the prompts list over at nate_eliot. My muse sucks right now.

Not sure I understand the counting system for this one. I either write 2.5k in drabbles, 10k in fliclets or 4k in fic. *scratches head*. Surely everyone's gonna go for the drabbles, right? I'm going to be physically avoiding going over 500 words... This seems crazy.

Prompts me guys. Prompt me!! Everything. Anything. Meta prompts, unfilled things on commentfic, ANYTHING.

Looking for a book or film in which the law-enforcement style (or any other perceived 'good guy' role) bod either turns out to be or gets talked into becoming a criminal. Something with a snappy name I can use as a con name.

I'm sure I should know at least one, but in traditional style my mind has gone blank.

So there's this fic, in my head, only theres three possibilities. So this is going to be a 'roll the dice' fic, based on the following polls.

I know a lot of you have heard me banging on about this before, but I have a few new friends around and so I thought I'd make another go at getting this off the ground. I really think if we can get enough people onto the community and - essentially - asking questions about what they're trying to write, we have the opportunity to make a really great resource of peoples' knowledge available.



The concept of the ILC Exchange is to get people together from all over the world, talking about the places they live and the languages they speak, and asking and answering questions about other peoples languages and cultures. This means that you can use it to improve the local context of your writing, whether you're writing about living in a place you don't live, visiting a place you've never visited or speaking a language you don't know!

When you first join up (visit the community and click the 'Join this community' button in the top banner), use the 'Post To This Community' button (in the top banner) to place a post on the board telling us where you're from - you can be as vague or as precise as you like, but don't give us your address! If you need some inspiration, you can see some other introduction posts. Tell us what you like to talk about and anywhere you have visited as a tourist you think you could give a tourist's eye view to. Then ask your questions of the other members of the community by posting and keep an eye out for questions you think you could answer!

The only way this is going to work is by getting people together from all over the world, so please, please pass the journal on and get people involved! Challenge yourself to find out how many people you know from outside your country, then go and ask if they're willing to get involved. Know another writer? Get them over here! So I have a plan for an amnesiac fic, but I don't know who the person is yet. I have a general image (from behind... Don't ask) so I know the individual is white, has dark brown/black hair, and is not heavily built (that last has wiped out a couple of the more obvious people - Eliot, Scott Summers, Tim Riggins, Paul Ballard, Daddy Winchester). I have the inkling of some pre-existing mental health issues (which by no means excludes any fanon character ever), but the amnesia was caused by head injuries suffered in an attack which took place in the backstreets of Rome.

I'm sure I've missed some really obvious people off the list. I'll happily take most fandoms, so long as I've seen it before, but if it's one I don't know well I might cross it over with something I know better.
