Possibly the best case fic I've ever read. :D Addresses pretty much EVERYTHING, has decent characterisation on EVERYONE and leaves no stone unturned. Also - Donovan who isn't just a bitch. Anderson who really is. Stealth feeding, drunk Sherlock, the shadow of Moriarty and a truly fantastic bromance. :D

It's been jossed by Season 2, but holy cow only just.


There was a tap on the open door, then Mrs Hudson appeared. "Is everything all right, dears?" Her anxious gaze swung between Sherlock and John, then became disapproving as it moved over the police officers. "Not another of those nasty drugs busts? I don't know why you bother - you never find them."

Lestrade coughed.

"Anything," Mrs Hudson corrected quickly. "You never find anything." She looked flustered.

I've come to the belated realisation that Sherlock as a fandom is a huge celebration of an asexual romance (or aromance, depending on who you talk to). Regardless of that, this fic took me all the way to the end without realising that I was on the verge of tears throughout. It was only when I finished reading I noticed how irregular I was breathing. Good emotional tension.

ETA: It has of course been entirely jossed by the start of the new season. But who cares when fic is this good.

I will never be able to thank themonkeytwin enough for introducing me to Gotye, and this cover is just so awesome.

I think I've found my car, and I'm getting all jittery over it because it's a long way away and getting it home is going to be interesting. Someone has offered to help me drive it most of the way, but I haven't driven in months and I'm a little bit terrified. I really hate driving, and the last time I drove any distance I managed to destroy a tyre by clipping a curb whilst trying to change lanes. And it could be a rust-bucket just about to fall to pieces and I wouldn't be able to tell just from looking at it. I mean... How would I know? *wibbles all over the place* I hate trying to be mature and stuff. :(

To everyone involved, you lovely happy people, but I'm taking the next heist and the next apocolypse off from landcomms. My participation has sucked in the last few weeks regardless, and I know I won't be able to commit everything until the next couple of months are over, so I figure that this is the best way.

I need a proper job fairly soon if I want to avoid losing any benefit garnered from my extensive further education, and while I love and adore working at the climbing wall, I can't live on my part time climbing bum income and my savings indefinitely. I'm going to spend a couple of months remembering what chemistry is, revising, applying everywhere that I can and possibly buying a car so I seem more stable and employable.

Once this emotional rollercoaster is over and I've given everything I love up for financial stability, I'll come crawling back to you guys begging for forgiveness.

Please don't cut me out of your lives completely, I'll still be here, probably writing out my frustration and annoyance, and looking forward to seeing all your awesomeness from the back seat.

Is anyone else having issues importing LJ posts into DW?
