Holy *$£& (aka Leverage Review)

So yeah. I'm a freaking happy bunny.

How often does a season finale live up to its own hype?

Not freaking often. So I'm having some problems writing in full sentences regarding this pair of episodes, so let me paraphrase my thoughs for you:

GORAN VISNJIC - OH MY FREAKING GOD! (and can we spend at least a little time playing with the Croatian connection plz? Is anyone writing that yet? Can I bribe anyone to?)

Gun weilding Eliot with the line we have been waiting for for SO LONG? HOLY SHIT
Eliot with a 'it doesn't matter if I die so long as you actually do this thing' speech? I NEARLY DIED!
Bullet-time western-style gun fight with prerequisite explosion? FUCK YEAH
Train jump, glowing bomb and glowing bomb disarmament? GO HARDISON! :D

Eliot's backstory, at least an hour of ANGRY FACE, and about three self-destructs in the same amount of time. I DID DIE :(

Stealing an election, and a country!? *facepalm* Dear god they win so hard.
Sophie's death? (again!) So much win.

THE LAST COUPLE OF SECONDS? HOLY FUCKING SHIT THEY CLOSED LESS THAN PERFECT FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (ahem... sorry, got a bit carried away there)

So yeah, I'll write the cleaned up closing for Less Than Perfect over Christmas, with Eliot's reconnection and return next season with fresh Nate/Sophie/Eliot eyes.

Please friend :) I like those.

Hey, me too! :)

They just faked up and an election, I mean... anyone could do that.

Anybody does, right?

Ah, the Line. See, I read almost no Leverage fic, and certainly not anything that has Eliot picking up guns, so that explains that. Of course, it made me chuckle because it's so standard that Neal Caffery used it, too. Verbatim, I think. I would have been happier with a simple, "I don't". Watching it, all my Cool instincts were screaming STOP THERE! C'mon, Eliot, you don't have to explain yourself! But his hair more than made up for it. I have never been more distracted by it (in the good way), and I rarely am, either. Even in the park, which is saying something.

wrote one once where he was just an epically crap shot, but I couldn't make it read in character.

That sounds brilliant! Did you post it?

Eliot is good at everything... damn him.

Except being obedient, it seems. :D

I haven't worked Eliot out yet. I'm not sure what he's thinking.

I'm pretty convinced it's simplye giddiness from relief, this big black cloud no longer looming before him, of being found out and rejected by the team, and clear skies ahead. He may not have achieved atonement or redemption, but maybe this is what absolution looks like. That's my take, but then, I don't have to screw it around to fit an established fic-verse! Can I help (at least without reading through the whole verse)? What thoughts have you got so far on him?

I didn't post that fic. I'll maybe have another run at it some time. I have some OCD tendancies and when I couldn't get it to work it kind of slid into my standard pattern for fic, which is something I've been trying really hard not to stop (to the point of working out of a new alias to aid dissociation).

I think you're probably totally right about that last scene, and I should be able to make that fit with the verse without too much faffing, but my brain is being objectionable. As usual. I will maybe potter over onto the PM service and have a chat with you when I start writing it. :) As Christmas is now over I'm back at work for a couple of days before the new year, but hopefully once my thesis is done (ha!) I will have some more time to think about fic.

Sounds like fun :)
