Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5, Day 6, Day 7, Day 8
Damnit, how have I missed a day already?
Day 9 – Pairings – For each of the fandoms from day two, what are your three favorite pairings to write?
- Leverage - I decided early on that almost every pairing I could think of would work in this fandom. I'm not a fan of Eliot/Parker, because I think it would be destructive (Alec is just right to bring balance to that, which is why I think the OT3 works so well), or Parker/Nate because Nate is strictly parental with Parker and I don't think Sophie/Hardison would work brilliantly, but yeah. Pretty much every other orientation + multiples.
- 3rd Rock from the Sun - GEN
- Angel - Wes/Fred, Gunn/Fred, Lindsey/Eve (closely followed by Lindsey/Darla, but that's one-sided so I'm not sure it counts as a pairing...)
- Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Tara/Willow, Buffy/Angel, Anya/Xander
- Burn Notice - GEN (though I ship Mikey/Fi)
- Castle - Castle/Beckett, Ryan/Jenny, Esposito/Lainy
- Criminal Minds - Pen/that guy who I'm going off more and more every time I see him, Pen/JJ, Pen/Morgan
- Dollhouse - I write gen, though I adore Victor/Sierra (Anthony/Priya)
- Dr Who - 9/Jack/Rose, 10/Rose, Amy/Rory (dear brain, stop calling him Arthur)
- Torchwood - Jack/Ianto, Gwen/Rhys, Jack/Everyone
- Firefly - Wash/Zoe
- Hide - Billy/Betty
- Inception/Mysterious skin crossover - Neil/Eames, of course... with subsidiary Arthur/Eames
- Mutant X - Emma/Shal
- Naruto - Kakashi/Iruka, Kakashi/Obito, Gai/Iruka
- Yuu Yuu Hakusho - Kurama/Hiei, Yusuke/Keiko, Kuwabara/Yukina
- Star Trek DS9 - Jadzia/Worf
- Supernatural - Sam/Ruby
- Terminator: SCC - GEN
- The Losers - Cougar/Jensen, Cougar/Aisha, Clay/Aisha
- White Collar - OT3
- X-men - Remy/Logan, Rogue/Remy, Charles/Erik
- LotR - Legolas/one or both of the twins.
- Gilmore Girls - Rory/Jess
- Heroes - Peter/Caitlin
- Keen Eddie - Monty/Eddie
- Bleach - Ishida/Ichigo
Day 10 – Pairings – Have you ever gone outside your comfort zone and written a pairing you liked, but found you couldn't write, or a pairing you didn't like, and found you could?
Pairing I like but can't write: Neil/Eames, that brief mysterious skin crossover. I can't write Neil well enough to make it work. I don't have any kind of life experience to help me understand him or get in his head, and while it's interesting to write a misunderstood character from a character you get quite well's stand point, it only lasts so long before you need relevations which are likely to fall off the mark.
Pairing I don't like but apparently can write: Pen/that guy I'm not a fan of who used to be Xander. He's such a... plot convenience. He is deus ex machina - and Pen's lonliness is the problem solved. I hate it. I feel like doing dreadful things to him when I write the pairing.
