It's a WhedonLand challenge. I have to admit I cast Wesley first, but Angel was an easy second. I can't help but think passionate angry Alexander!Angelus would fit into those flashback scenes so much better than... well... And also - an Irish accent when there's supposed to be one, but he's pretty good at the American one too if needed. I think he'd be dreadful as Angel/Angelus in Buffy though, because just by being himself he would skew the rating into the not-kiddie. I think that's in part why they chose Boreanaz and why he didn't translate into the adult so well. Less of the sexual intimidation. (However, Spike did that very well in the later years)

For Cordy I just picked someone I know is pretty and can do spoiled useless airhead as well as she does kick-ass self-sufficient fighter. I am a Dark Angel fan. XD

For Fred I originally had Summer Glau, but that broke the rules of the challenge (no other Whedon-actors) so I re-recast to a young Jodie Foster for her character in the film Nell and the fact she's possibly my favourite actress of all time.

For Wes... Why would I not want Chitwetel Ejiofor? A Classically Trained Actor as an Ex-Watcher/rogue demon hunter/slightly useless and bumbling (but quite terrifying when he takes charge) part of the team. What more could I want in life?

For Gunn... well it's just Dean/Alec isn't it. Kick-ass, self-sufficient, won't take shit from anyone, can kill anything that's likely to try to kill him, intensely loyal to friends and family... Sorry Jensen for type-casting. My bad.
